On 17th June, the press conference of "My Climate, My Change--Changing Climate Action" was held in China Pavilion, Rio de Janeiro, during the Rio+20 conference. Huang Ming, the vice president of ISES (International Solar Energy Society) and chairman of Himin Solar declared: set up 50,000 Climate Mart (world wide chain) in 5 years. This is the first activity organized at China Pavilion. This declaration not only represents the transformation of the Chinese renewable energy from passive response to positive acting, but also provides another resolution for global energy and environment crisis at Rio+20 Earth Summit, that is commercial operation.

"Rio+20" is short for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 2012. Its main theme is green economy and sustainable development. Leaders, international organizations and business representatives, about 50 thousand people from more than 130 countries will take part in the conference. "Rio+20 will be one of the most important global meetings on sustainable development in our time",UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moom said.

Huang Ming thinks, coping with the two crises of energy and environment, the world should change from the "awareness of emission-reduction" to the "action of emission-reduction". Climate Mart leads the climate improvement, ranging from individual, family, community and city to the whole planet, with the various clean energy products and solutions, which will penetrate into daily life of human beings and make energy saving and emission reduction a habit.

According to scientific calculation, 50,000 climate marts (worldwide chain) will promote the area of solar collectors for 100,000,000㎡,the scale of solar photovoltaic for 2,000 megawatts, 10,000,000㎡ of energy-efficient windows & doors and other environmental-friendly products. It annually saves 50,000,000 tons of standard coal, and reduces the emission of carbon dioxide for 200,000,000tons, of sulfur dioxide for 200,000 tons, of nitric oxide for 150,000tons and dust for 300,000tons, which will provide clean energy products for five million families and more than twenty million people."If there are 50,000 climate marts all over the world, the renewable energy will spread more widely, and there is hope for climate improvement." Huang Ming said.

Huang Ming, honored as "Kuafu" of solar energy, is a businessman who is the least like a businessman. Holding a great non-business dream, i.e. make the Micro-Emission Earth Strategy come true, he, however, positively claims to promote the sustainable development of renewable energy in the commercial way. More than once, at numerous international conferences, he pointed that at present the governments, companies, NGOs and public are misled and play the misplaced and offside roles in the renewable energy development, with misusing the visible hand, i.e. the macro regulations and control, and missed the invisible hand, i.e. the market economy. Commercialization is the only resolution of managing the energy crises and promoting the renewable energy industry. Climate Mart is, exactly the best way for renewable energy commercialization, just like promoting automobile, mobile, computer and internet, which thrive by commercial operation. Government, other than holding meetings, is to make platform and set rules for a better market.

How to build the climate mart? Huang Ming indicates that climate mart is the worldwide practice of the Strategy of "Micro-Emission Earth" and Me Pad (Micro-Emission Package Design). Himin has full accumulations in product, technology, application and commercial promotion. It's known that while the European countries and America offer large subsidies and technical support to solar company without obvious effect, Himin, just depending on itself, successfully enlightened the Chinese solar market by completely commercial promotion model, creates the sustainable development model of renewable energy in the world and provides solar water heaters for more than 200 million Chinese.

According to the statistics, by 2011, China is the largest solar energy utilization country with the inventory area of solar collectors about 210,000,000㎡, taking more than 70% of the world. Taking Himin as an example, it has promoted 20,000,000㎡ of solar collector in recent ten years on its own, amounting to save 400,000,000 tons of coal and reduce the emission 400,000,000tons. At present, Himin is reported to install solar collectors with an area of 3,000,000㎡, which equals the total amount produced in the European Union and is twice that of North America.

As to how to operate climate mart, Huang Ming said that the climate mart is a franchising shop, just like Wal-Mart and KFC. He hopes that the whole world shares the duty of building the climate mart, and appeals that the global environmentalists and individuals who hold the dream of renewable energy to act together and achieve the dream of self-help.

The media comments that the proposal of climate mart marks the change from passive response to climate changing to active improvement. If promoted in a large scale, it must be popular in the world and produce large green economic benefit like computer reaction, control and calculation and storage high technology as well as protect the earth from crisis.

Officials from the China's State Council News Office, Ministry of Finance, China's Ministry of Hosing and Urban-Rural Development and representatives of Chinese and foreign media, NGO organizations take part in this press conference. During the Rio+20 summit, Huang Ming will also organize a special football match with the theme "my climate, my change", and communicate with negotiating representatives on behalf of governments and leaders in business and academic, and take part in a series of forums and activities.
